Halloween cards

these cards were made for the Cards for Solider Challenge I used the Martha Stewart Halloween stack from last year for this card.

Here's the drippy goo border punch, a $1 stamp from M's; the background paper is from the DCVW Summer glitter stack.

DCVW paper from a Fall stack (not sure which year but not current), K&Co pumpkin border, MS embossed pumkpin border punch (last year). The Happy Halloween greeting is from Inkadinkadoo.

MS Halloween stack from last year; not sure where I got the ribbon from, just know that I've had it for a while...okay.... years!

MS halloween stack (last year) w/ fall colored glitter glue from M's (last year too). I'm trying to use my stash!! The greeting was from Target $1 bins last year.

DCWV background paper - again not sure what year but definitely NOT this year and some foam ghosts with white craft ink from SU on the edge...

I think this is my favorite.. the paper is from this year's Debbie Mumm holiday stack, some co-ordinations paper and the ghost is from M's (last year). The trick or treat stamp was from Target last year - $1 bins.

This paper is Debbie Mumm, border strip too, the corner is from a 6x6 DCWV stack from ages ago; the owl is MS Halloween stack from last year, the circle-y thingys are not brads but just dots...from a couple years ago from the $1 stuff from Joann's.

baby Leah

Congratulations to my niece Emily and her husband Zack on the birth of their first child, Leah Ruth. She finally made her appearance (after some subtle coaxing) on August 6th at 856 pm. She weighed in at 9 pounds and 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. Isnt she beautiful?

Scrapping at the Beach!!

I'm at the beach in Old Lyme CT with my BFF and her family (all of them, parents, brothers, sisters - in -law, nephews, aunts and cousins) - this year I stayed for 2 weeks and am loving it! We have had beautiful weather and lots of photos ops....
Here is the only LO I did even though I brought enough supplies to fill a small store...my littlest chick Lindsey walking on the beach early one morning as we were looking for sea shells and sea glass in one of her 14 bathing suits (not a typo - she brought a different one for each day!)

Here are some cards I have made recently - really loving those Bellas! this is a graduation card for our old landlord's daughter - I can't believe that she is old enough to graduate already!

This one was for a friend of Chuck's daughter whom I've never met (explain to me why you have to invite everyone you know, even casually, to a high school graduation party?) but she did attend my high school alma mater so I knew what color the graduation gowns were - at least in my day...but wait the guys wore the blue ones and the girls wore white ones! oh well... it's not like she'll even appreciate the time or effort put in it - its all about the cash inside the card!

This was for a belated birthday card for a co-worker.

and this bella was a "going away/congrats on your new job" card for a co-worker.

Madison with her Hannah Montana birthday cake that I made her - she loved it which is the point regardless of the stress I had during the whole creating process!

I made the pink stickled guitar using the Indie Art Cricut cartridge.

Memorial Day weekend is always busy for Chuck & I - we had a cookout and camp fire at Karen & Mikes' on Saturday night, Sunday we had a cookout at his Aunt Annie's and on Monday was Mom and Madison's birthday as well as the Memorial Day parade. I was almost happy to go to work on Tuesday!

I am posting some of my cards that I have recently made
This is a Birthday card I made for my Dad.. I ran a gold stamp pad over the black paper after I ran it thru the cuddlebug,... the stained glass is really a microscope slide with a stamped image on it then I used my SU markers to color the back side then wrapped it with gold tape.

This is Madison's birthday card from the WildCard cart.... next time I will use thinner paper, I used textured cardstock from the DCWV summer stack and it didnt really want to fold like I wanted it to but I know that at 7 years old she will not keep the card...I then stickled the candles on the envelope and the confetti on the cupcake.

I made this Birthday card for my mom from the Wildcard cart as well. I used SU paper and a prima flower along with some skittles.

This card was for my NSSS Sara57Marie from the Cricut message board - I actually used heat embossing! something that I have not done in eons. The butterfly stamp is from a SU set, dont remember which one and the "because your special" was a stamp that she sent me in the April package.

This is the mother's day card I made for Chuck's mom - I used SU everything.

Mother's day layout

Here is a layout of my mom, me and Gramma Lin (her mom) from Mother's Day 2008 - I dont scrap in chronological order...just what strikes me when I feel the need. The paper is Fancy Pants; this is a layered prima that I hand colored.

This is a close up of the hand drawn & cut heart; I doodled on the edge to make it look like an element of the paper then popped it along with the flower on the "o" in Mom.

MOTHER'S DAY LUAU

This year for Mother's Day the girls in the Landers family gathered at my house for a Hawaiian breakfast...a tradition that was carried over from our childhood Christmases. Here is a theme appropriate Mother's Day card I made for Mom. Isn't that little penguin the cutest thing? And Sierra & I made place cards with my Cricut Expressions and Life's A Beach cart... each one was personalized to resemble us (sort of)

Here we all are with our Leis... from left, Susan (or Ava as she wanted to be called that day) Me, Sierra, Lisa and Mom.

This is Sierra in all her girly glory....she NEVER wears anything even half way girly so this is a really special occasion... makeup (pink eyeshadow, lip liner and lipstick), pink hair clips, a flower in hair and a pink swimsuit! oh, and a hand sketched tatoo of a palm tree!

Here was our table complete with hanging pineapples (I thought they were centerpieces when I bought them).

We really had a wonderful time and lots of laughs.

National Scrapbooking Day (weekend for me)

I was busy this weekend...and got a lot accomplished....

this is Halle's 6th birthday party from last year ( just a little behind but then I have never been a chronological scrapper; rather I scrap what moves me). The title is chipboard which I covered w/ textured CS then stamped with the SU celebrate definition stamp.. I even used mini skittles. The polka dot CS is Nana's Kids from DCWV. The flowers were from Wal-mart which I picked up years ago. And this is Halle's 7th birthday ...I used the new dotted swiss bazzill cs and the $1 cupcake stamps from M's

This is of the chicks first day at school for the 2008-09 term... Kaytlyn never wears skirts so this was a real surprise... paper is from the Butterflies & Blossoms stack from DCWV.

This page I absolutely love! The picture is of my baby brother Daniel when he was a scrawny pre-teen...look at him, so cool with his medallion necklace and lifting weights... and that crooked little grin ....

It took me quite a while before I found the right paper (Cosmo Cricket) and the bicycle just screams 70's - it was from a K&Company stack - I cant remember the name but I picked it up from M's a couple of weeks ago - it had unicorns and mushrooms and submarines...really funky stuff. The font is Keep on Truckin' - I printed it on DCWV textured 8x8 cardstock and then hand cut the numbers then layered it on a Cosmo Cricket green CS to coordinate with the background paper...I printed off the chorus to the Mark Wills song, "1970 Something".

This layout was to commemorate our first trip to Hobby Lobby that recently opened in Cicero.

The paper was from the Green Stack (again DCWV) I used my Dymo-Labeler for the journaling and rub-ons from Daisy D's as accents. The little black dots were sticky pearls that I picked up in CT while at the beach - Stephanie and I stopped at some little store - can't remember the name.
